IPL 2002, RCB vs MI: Ravi Shastri described Washington Sundar’s bowling spell as “Best IPL Performance”.
Indian cricket team’s head coach Ravi Shastri has said that Washington Sundar’s performance for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Mumbai Indians is the best in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 so far. His comment RCB defeated Mumbai Indians in the Super Over at Dubai International Stadium on Monday.
In the Super Over, Mumbai Indians could manage just seven runs as Saini bowled a brilliant over, and was easily followed by Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. In normal match action, both Mumbai and Bangalore scored 201 runs on the board.
For RCB, Sundar conceded 12 runs in his quota of just four overs and also took the crucial wicket of Rohit Sharma.
Considering Sundar’s performance, Shastri tweeted: “One batsman in the world – from Chennai to Washington. Best IPL performance ever in 2020. Exclusive.”

Earlier, de Villiers played an unbeaten innings of 55 runs off just 24 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes to take RCB’s score to 201/3 in the stipulated 24 overs.
Chasing 202, Mumbai found themselves at 78/4, but it was then that Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard lined up at the crease together giving the team a target of 119 to take them closer to the target.
Ishan Kishan smashed 99, including two fours and nine sixes. On the other hand, Pollard scored an unbeaten 60-run knock in 24 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes.
For RCB, fast bowler Navdeep Saini finished with figures of 0/43 in his four overs. Pacer also bowled a super over, in which he conceded just seven runs while staying between Pollard and Hardik Pandya.
RCB have played three matches in the tournament so far and have won two. The team led by Virat Kohli will face Rajasthan Royals on October 3.
