IPL 2020, CSK vs SRH, Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Players to Watch Out
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – two former IPL champions – are currently ranked last and second respectively in the IPL 2020 points table. Both teams have played three matches, winning one and losing two. CSK have lost their last two matches after winning the IPL 2020 opener, while SRH registered their last win against Delhi Capital. Both teams will be eager to gain some momentum to win and move forward, but their big names will be needed to get into the party.
Chennai Super Kings
Faf du Plessis: The South African veteran has been a standout for CSK so far in the tournament. He is currently third on the list of top runners this season with 173 runs, averaging 86.50 and strikes at 149.13. Du Plessis has two fifties to his name this season and CSK is hoping that his form will continue.
Ambati Rayudu: CSK missed out on the right-handed batsman along with other big names in the team. Rayudu was unavailable for the last two matches, which CSK lost. He scored a stunning 71 in the match against defending champions Mumbai Indians, and showed a batting average without him. His return to fitness is a welcome sign for the Chennai-based franchise.
Sam Curran: The Englishman has been the best bowler for CSK, taking five wickets in the three matches played so far. His economy rate has also been on the manageable side – 7.33. The rest of the CSK camp bowlers have taken a lot of runs, while Karron not only had to work with the ball but also lost his bat.
Johnny Bairstow: The Sunrisers have been the England star head and shoulders above the rest of Hyderabad’s batsmen. He has scored 119 runs in three matches at an average of 39.66 and a strike-rate of 117.82. Bairstow has already scored two half-centuries despite not being at his disastrous best.
Ken Williamson: The biggest jump for SRH this season came when the New Zealand captain was retained in the squad for the match against Delhi Capital. Williamson did not play the first two matches and lost the middle order in his absence. In their first game of this season, New Josander made an instant impact, scoring 41 runs off just 26 balls, helping SRH win on the Post 162/4 board, a win total.
Rashid Khan: After the start of IPL 2020, the Afghanistan sensation has returned to its best form to the delight of the team and their fans. Rashid Khan did nothing less to take three wickets in a brilliant game against DC and concede just 14 runs in his four overs. He bowled an incredible 13 dot balls in the match, dodging the DC batsmen. SRH needs Rashid to shine and he hopes he will only get better from here.
