The second and third placed teams – Delhi Capital and Kolkata Knight Riders – will be seen in action in the second match of the day on Saturday. The match will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, a venue which has scored a lot of runs in the IPL 2020. After opening the tournament with back-to-back wins, Delhi Capital were handed their first defeat by Sunrisers Hyderabad. On the other hand, KKR started the tournament with a defeat, but made a good comeback with successive wins and looks good for more.
Capital of Delhi
Rishabh Pant: No player has stood for Delhi Capital in the three matches played so far, but Rishabh Pant remains the most consistent. The wicketkeeper-batsman has scored 96 runs at an average of 48 and a strike-rate of 118.51. The Delhi-based franchise will be hoping to achieve a major milestone against KKR.
Shreyas Iyer: The Delhi Capitals are yet to hit their strike in the IPL 2020 but have shown signs of their class. And while the Delhi team managed to secure two wins despite a disappointing batting department, Shreyas Iyer would have to put his hands up and make a big contribution to go far in the tournament.
Kagiso Rabada: The South African fast bowler has been a standout performer for the Delhi Capitals without a doubtful performance. He is currently the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, behind Mohammed Shami, with seven wickets in three matches and can leap from the Indian pacer with two or more wickets.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Andre Russell: The West Indies big player is yet to make his mark in this year’s tournament and what might be a better platform than Sharjah to warn his rivals. After two low scores in the first two matches, Russell got some form from 24 off 14 balls, including three sixes.
Shubman Gill: The stylish right-hander has topped the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders so far this season. Shubman Gill has scored 124 runs at an average of 62 with a high score of 70 not out. KKR will expect more from India’s rising star in the upcoming games.
Shivam Mavi: The injury suffered by the young Indian fast bowler in the last season of IPL has shaken him completely. He has played all three matches for KRR this season, taking four wickets at an economy rate of 6.70.
