Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal changed their profile names on respective Twitter handles as a tribute to the “selfless frontier warriors” who have served various communities during the COVID-19 crisis. #MyCovidHeroes, Kohli, de Villiers and Chahal, part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore initiative, changed their names on Twitter to Simranjit Singh, Paritosh Pant and Dr. Nayak had a few hours before his first Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai. His profile pictures also had the names of “My Kovid Heroes” on the back of RCB’s jersey.

The RCB team wrote in an RCB release published on 17 September, “To acknowledge the sacrifices and honors made by these genuine challengers, the RCB team proudly coached one with the message” My Covid Heroes “during training and matches Tribute will be donated by Jersey.

Kohli said at the time, “In the last few months, whenever I have heard stories of Kovid Heroes, it has given me literal goons.”


“These real challengers have made the country proud and inspired all of us to be more persistent and dedicated to our efforts to create a better tomorrow.

“I’m really proud to be wearing RCB’s” My Kovid Heroes “jersey, a symbol of solidarity and gratitude to all who are going the extra mile to support the community at large right now. Have batted day and night and fought on the field, and I feel honored to call him my hero. ”


Simranjit Singh, one of Kohli’s COVID Nayaks, is hearing the deteriorated people who donated to those suffering from the epidemic. He teamed up with his friends for Rs. 98,000 for relief work.

RCB played their first IPL 2020 match against SRH in Dubai on Monday.
