The Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 12th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season at the Dubai International Stadium. The Royals currently top the league standings, winning two out of two bouts. Meanwhile, KKR are seventh in the table, having won one match and lost one. Steve Smith’s side started their campaign with a 16-run win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It was followed by a four-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). KKR started their season with a 49-run defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI). He made his second outing by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets.
RR will rely heavily on Sanju Samson, who has already scored 159 runs in two matches, with the highest innings of 85 runs. He also has a strike rate of 214.86. His boundary count in two fours is also impressive, including five fours and sixes.
Meanwhile, KKR who have been looking erratic this season, will be hoping that Andre Russell returns to top form this season. The all-rounders have been patchy and were injured in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League.
