IPL 2020, RR vs KXIP, Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab: players to watch out
Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab throws up an interesting matchup between a captain who has been there and one who is starting his journey to lead a world class organization. Steve Smith and KL Rahul will be up against each other, leading both teams to impressive victories in their previous matches. Steve Smith, along with Sanju Samson, unleashed the Chennai Super Kings bowling attack, while KL Rahul hit Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore with an unbeaten century. With both teams packed with a pile of talent in the batting department, RR could be little more than KXIP, which makes for a mouthwater encounter in Sharjah.
Sanju Samson: Kerala’s wicketkeeper-batsman was in superb form in the match against Chennai Super Kings. He scored a brilliant 74 off 32 balls, hitting nine fours with a four and a four. Samson’s innings proved crucial as the Rajasthan Royals scored 216 for seven in their 20 overs.
Samson once again proved his talent in the biggest stages of cricket and will look to repeat his performance with the bat against Kings XI Punjab. But the Punjab bowlers are in top form this season and Samson will certainly find it very difficult in the match against CSK.
Steve Smith: As soon as the tournament came, some questions were raised about Steve Smith’s fitness. The Australian team missed the ODI series throughout England as it was hurt in training. However, Smith considered any fear of his fitness to be right against CSK.
The Rajasthan Royals captain scored 69 off 47 balls, scoring four sixes and several fours in his innings. Smith had started the innings against CSK, but could hope to bring the match back one by one with Jose Butler.
Joffra Archer: The England fast bowler has the ability to upset the best player in the world and once again showed his immense talent, running at an economy rate of 6.50 for just 26 runs in his four overs against CSK. Archer also accounted for the crucial wicket of Faf du Plessis, while scoring 27 runs off eight balls with the bat in hand.
Rajasthan Royals will need Archer against the batsmen of Kings XI Punjab who have soared high. It can be Archer who can control the likes of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal.

KL Rahul: The Kings XI Punjab captain scored an unbeaten 132 off 69 balls, the highest score by an Indian in the IPL. He hit 14 fours and seven sixes to fly the RCB bowlers.
After Chris Gayle’s dismissal, Punjab will once again give him a good start as their captain, but this time he will need to compete with Jofra Archer. However, if he manages to counter Archer early, we can make another KL Rahul special on the card.
Sheldon Cottrell: West Indies fast bowler Kings XI have achieved immense success in two matches played for Punjab this season. He has formed a brilliant new ball partnership with Mohammad Shami.
The left-arm fast bowler took two wickets for 24 runs in four overs in the Delhi match of KXIP and performed well against RCB taking two wickets for just 17 runs in 3 overs.
Ravi Bishnoi: The youngster caught the eye with some great performances in the Under-19 World Cup and he landed in the IPL like a fish. Ravi Bishnoi has already made a big impact and the batsmen will need to be cautious against him.
He took one wicket and conceded just 22 runs in his four overs against DC and despite being a touch expensive against RCB, he took three wickets to spin a web around Virat Kohli’s men.
